Bahuda Yatra — the return Ratha Yatra on the 9th day. The deities travel from Gundicha back to the main temple, stopping at Mausi Maa Mandir for the famous Poda Pitha offering.

Mantra

ॐ श्री जगन्नाथाय नमः। बहुडा-यात्रा जय।

Om Sri Jagannathaya namah; Bahuda-yatra jaya

Salutations to Sri Jagannath returning home — victory to the homecoming chariot.

How to recite

On Asadha Shukla Dashami the three deities return from Gundicha to the main temple, again pulled by devotees on the same three chariots. On the way the chariots stop at the Mausi Maa (Aunt's) temple where the Lord is offered Poda Pitha (a baked sweet cake His aunt loved). Pull the ropes if at Puri; cook poda pitha at home and offer it; watch live broadcast.

Benefits

The return journey reinforces that even the Lord must return home; the stop for Poda Pitha shows His sweet remembrance of every familial bond. Devotees who could not make it to the forward Yatra often attend the Bahuda.
