What distinguishes Papankusha Ekadashi?

Papankusha Ekadashi is associated with Vishnu's Padmanabha form and with repentance. Its traditional mahatmya is presented as Krishna's teaching to Arjuna about worship, restraint and spiritual merit. This gives the observance a different devotional emphasis from the Chaturmas transitions and intercalary-month stories attached to other named Ekadashis. The focus is a change of direction in one's conduct, not treating a fast as automatic cancellation of wrongdoing. Devotional reading, restraint and compassionate action can therefore be considered together.

October: For an autumn observance, distinguish a permitted fasting dish from sweets prepared for a neighbouring festival. Use the page's meal idea and food list to avoid treating all festive ingredients as interchangeable.

These are optional permitted-meal ideas, not new fasting rules. Keep the original allowed and avoided foods and follow your tradition's time for ending the fast.
