Mantra

ॐ गौर्यै नमः

Om Gauryai Namaha — I bow to Goddess Gauri, the radiant one, bestower of marital happiness

✦ Special Note

Particularly important in the first 5 years of marriage. Perform Shodashopchar puja (16 offerings) to Goddess Gauri. Draw or buy a mandala with Gauri's image and decorate with flowers and turmeric. This fast honours the divine union of Shiva-Parvati as the ideal of marriage. Follows the Amanta (Maharashtra) Shravan month, which begins a fortnight after the North Indian Purnimanta Sawan — so these Tuesdays differ from North Indian Mangala Gauri lists. Dates per Drik Panchang (drikpanchang.com, Mumbai/Amanta Mangala Gauri list).
