Vivah Panchami — the day Bhagavan Ram and Devi Sita were wed at Janakpur after Ram broke the Pinaka-bow of Shiva. Margashirsha Shukla Panchami. Ayodhya, Janakpur, and every Ramanandi mandir reenacts the wedding through the night with full vivah-vidhi, wedding bhog, and continuous Siyaram-naam.

How to recite
Read the Bal Kanda chapters of the Ramcharitmanas describing the Sita-Ram vivah at Janakpur. Decorate the home altar as a wedding mandap. Perform a symbolic vivah-vidhi between Sita and Ram murtis or photos. Distribute laddoo and barfi as wedding prasad. Sing 'Siyaram Jay Siyaram' through the night.
Benefits
Witnessing the Sita-Ram vivah on this day is held in the Ramanandi tradition to bring the same punya as attending it in person at Janakpur in the Treta Yuga. Unmarried devotees pray for a Ram-like spouse.
✦ Special Note
Janakpur (Sita's birth-place) and Ayodhya (Ram's birth-place) become one through the symbolic baraat (wedding procession) that travels between them in the Ramanandi reenactment. Margashirsha Shukla Panchami is observed on the first local sunrise where Panchami prevails; when two sunrises qualify, choose the earlier day. No separate Ramanandi institutional calendar is used. The 2026–2027 rule matches the ten reviewed London, Fremont, Dallas, Toronto and New York observations. If no qualifying sunrise exists, the local date remains unavailable rather than guessed. Dates per Drik Panchang, the owner's confirmed authority for date edge cases.
