Offer the pavitra at the haveli or home altar with the pavitra-arpan mantra. Read the Pavitra Ekadashi varta (Pushti Marg account). Sing the Shravan-rasa padas of the Ashtachhap kavis. Continue the strict Ekadashi phalahari fast.
Benefits
Pavitra Ekadashi (also called Pavitropana Ekadashi or Putrada Ekadashi in the broader panchang) is the unique Pushti Marg seva of offering pavitra-garlands to Shrinathji to atone for any seva-shortcomings of the past year. The pavitra is composed of 24 knots (one for each of the 24 fortnightly Ekadashis) or 108 knots, and is offered with a vow of completed seva. Worship on this day is held to perfect the past year's bhakti and prepare the bhakta for the coming Janmashtami-Annakut-Diwali high-seva season.
✦ Special Note
The pavitras offered at the Nathdwara haveli on Pavitra Ekadashi are kept in seva for one year, then distributed as prasadi-pavitras to the Brahma-Sambandhi vaishnavas. Receiving a Nathdwara pavitra is the most coveted of all Pushti Marg prasadi-objects.
