Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj Punyatithi — Vaishakh Sud 5 — the akshar-vihar anniversary of the founder of BAPS and the third Aksharbrahman guru, who returned to the Lord on May 10, 1951 at Sarangpur. Observed at every BAPS mandir with special remembrance kathas on his founder-tapasya.

How to recite
Mahamantra jaap, reading from Shastriji Maharaj's vachanamruts and the multi-volume biography. Visit a BAPS mandir for the remembrance assembly. Reflect on Shastriji Maharaj's superhuman labour to establish the Akshar-Purushottam Darshan as a separate institutional reality — leaving Vadtal in 1906, founding BAPS at Bochasan in 1907, and constructing six Akshar-Purushottam mandirs by 1951.
Benefits
On Vaishakh Sud 5 (May 10, 1951), Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj returned to Akshardham at Sarangpur after an 86-year life. He had founded BAPS in 1907 and built six mandirs (Bochasan 1907, Sarangpur 1916, Gondal 1934, Atladra 1945, Gadhada 1951, Sarangpur 1951) where Akshar-Purushottam (Aksharbrahman beside Bhagwan Swaminarayan) were installed. His successor Yogiji Maharaj continued the mission.
✦ Special Note
Per the official BAPS calendar (baps.org). Shastriji Maharaj's samadhi is at Sarangpur (BAPS headquarters). The Yagnapurush Smruti Mandir at Sarangpur is the principal pilgrimage spot for this day.
