Mantra

जय जय रामकृष्ण हरि

Jaya Jaya Rama Krishna Hari

Victory, victory to Rama, Krishna, Hari — the Warkari salutation given to the world by Sant Tukaram.

How to recite

Sing Sant Tukaram's gathas (collected abhangas) continuously — especially 'Aanik na lage maajhya manasi' and 'Vrikshavalli aamhaa soyari vanachari'. Visit Dehu (Tukoba's birthplace) for the Janma procession from the Inderayani river bank to the Tukaram mandir. Recite his Saakshatkari abhangas at sunset.

Benefits

Sant Tukaram Maharaj appeared on this day (Magha Shukla Panchami / Vasant Panchami, 1608 CE) at Dehu to Bolhoba and Kanakai. Tukoba composed ~5000 abhangas in his lifetime — the highest devotional poetry in Marathi. His Jayanti grace burns the ego-knot and grants direct Vitthal-darshan.

✦ Special Note

Tukoba Janma falls on Vasant Panchami — the same day as Saraswati Puja and Sant Nivruttinath Sanjeevan Samadhi (in some panchangs). Dehu becomes the second Pandharpur on this day. Per the Marathi Drik Panchang (Amanta system) — Magha Shukla Panchami.
