Karthika Purnima (Tripurari Purnima) — the full moon of Karthika — Lord Shiva's destruction of Tripura. The grand culmination of the month-long Karthika Deepotsava. The most spiritually charged full moon of the year for the Shaiva-Lingayat tradition. Observed at every Lingayat home and matha worldwide.

How to recite
Light a mahadeepa (large oil-lamp) at sunset — the principal Karthika Deepotsava observance. Visit the matha or local Shiva mandir for the grand Tripurari Purnima abhishek. Hold and worship the Ishtalinga. Chant the Panchakshara 108 times. The pradosha-twilight on Karthika Purnima is especially sacred (Maha-pradosha).

The most spiritually charged full moon of the year for Shaivas. The Karthika Deepotsava reaches its grand culmination on this night with mahadeepas at every home, every mandir, every river-bank, and every Lingayat matha across Karnataka.
