Prabodhini Ekadashi — Vitthal awakens from yoga-nidra exactly four months after Ashadhi Ekadashi. The second great pilgrimage of the year arrives at Pandharpur. Tulsi Vivah (the marriage of Tulsi to Krishna-Vitthal) is performed on the following day, marking the start of the auspicious wedding season.

Mantra

Uthi uthi Gopala Ghanashyama
Awake, awake, O Gopala, the dark one — Vitthal awakens from yoga-nidra after four months of chaturmas.
How to recite
Sing the Tulsi Vivah and Prabodhini abhangas of Sant Tukaram and Eknath at sunrise. Perform Tulsi puja in the courtyard with sugarcane mandap. Sing Haripath in the evening at the local Vithoba mandir or home altar.
Benefits
Marks the awakening of Vitthal — the four-month chaturmas vow ends. All paused auspicious activities (marriages, naming ceremonies, housewarming) may resume after this day.
✦ Special Note
The Kartiki Wari draws lakhs of pilgrims to Pandharpur. On this night Vithoba is woken with kirtan and the chaturmas vow concludes. Per the Marathi Drik Panchang (Amanta system). Warkari Ekadashi follows the Bhagwat (Vaishnava) rule — when the Ekadashi tithi spans two days, the fast falls on the second day.
