Magha Shukla Ekadashi (Jaya Ekadashi) — observed strictly by Warkaris alongside the regular Pandharpur and home altar abhanga sessions. Falls about a week before Tukaram Beej, when Warkari kirtans intensify around Sant Tukaram's vaikuntha-gaman.

Mantra

ज्ञानदेवा तुकोबा माउली विठ्ठल

Jnanadeva Tukoba Mauli Vitthala

Through Sant Dnyaneshwar (Mauli) and Sant Tukaram, all paths lead to Vitthal.

How to recite

Sing the abhangas of Mauli (Dnyaneshwar) — especially Pasaydana — and the gathas of Sant Tukaram. Recite Haripath. Chant Vitthala-naam from Brahma-muhurta until midnight.

Benefits

Jaya Ekadashi grants liberation from past karmas. For Warkaris this is also the prelude to Tukaram Beej, when Sant Tukaram ascended to Vaikuntha in the form he was already in.

✦ Special Note

Per the Marathi Drik Panchang (Amanta system). Warkari Ekadashi follows the Bhagwat (Vaishnava) rule — when the Ekadashi tithi spans two days, the fast falls on the second day.
