Varamahalakshmi Vratam falls on the Friday before the full moon (Purnima) of Shravana month and is one of the most important women's vrats in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Married women fast and perform elaborate puja of Goddess Varamahalakshmi — who grants all boons — for the prosperity and wellbeing of their families.
