Sriman Venkatanathaaryah Kavitarkika-Kesari · Vedantacharya-Varyo Me Sannidhattam Sada Hridi

May the venerable Sri Venkatanatha (Vedanta Desika) — lion among poets and logicians, foremost of all Vedanta Acharyas — eternally take up residence in my heart.

How to recite

At Thoopul (Kanchipuram — Vedanta Desika's birthplace), Thiruvaheendrapuram (where he received Sri Lakshmi-Hayagriva's grace), and Srirangam, full pancha-kala anusandhanam is performed. Recite the Sri Hayagriva Stotram (32 verses), the Garuda Dandakam, the Bhu Stuti, the Sri Stuti, the Daya Shatakam, and the Sankalpa Suryodaya. Read at least one chapter of the Sri Bhashya or the Rahasyatraya Sara (Desika's magnum opus on the three rahasyas of Sri Vaishnavism).

Benefits

Sri Vedanta Desika (1268-1369 CE), known as Kavi-Tarkika-Simha (lion among poets and logicians), is the foremost Vadakalai poorvacharya — the great defender of Sri Ramanuja's Vishishtadvaita. Sri Lakshmi-Hayagriva (the horse-faced form of Vishnu, lord of all knowledge) appeared directly to him at Thiruvaheendrapuram and granted the Sri Hayagriva mantra. His 116+ Sanskrit, Tamil, and Manipravala works (Stotras, Sahasranamas, Kavyas, Vedantic granthas) are foundational to the entire Sri Vaishnava sampradaya. Worship on his tirunakshatram (Purattasi + Sravana) grants his direct grace and the punya of all his stotra-parayanam for a year.
