Mukam Mela (Asoj Amavasya) — the larger of the two annual Bishnoi pilgrimages to Mukam (Bikaner district), the site of Guru Jambheshwar's samadhi and of Samrathal Dhora where he established the Bishnoi panth in 1485 CE. Observed on Ashwin Amavasya (the same amavasya as Mahalaya / end of Pitru Paksha), with all-night havan at Samrathal Dhora and dhokh at Jambhoji's samadhi. Draws over a million Bishnoi pilgrims annually from Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, MP, UP, and the diaspora.

Mantra
विष्णो विष्णो तू भजे रे प्राणी
Vishno Vishno tu bhaje re prani
O living being, chant Vishnu, chant Vishnu — Jambhoji's mool mantra, recited continuously through the night of the Mukam Mela.
How to recite
If able to travel: undertake the Mukam yatra (Bikaner district) for the all-night chanting and havan at Samrathal Dhora — the sacred dhora (sand dune) where Jambhoji established the Bishnoi panth in 1485 CE. If observing from home: keep a strict vrat from sunrise, perform sandhya morning and evening, and join the chanting through ratri-jagran (night vigil). Recite Jambhoji's Shabadvani.
Benefits
Mukam (Bikaner district, Rajasthan) is the spiritual capital of the Bishnoi panth — the site of Jambhoji's samadhi and of Samrathal Dhora, the sand dune where he established the panth and gave the 29 niyams in 1485 CE. The Asoj Amavasya Mela (autumn — Ashwin Amavasya, coinciding with Mahalaya Amavasya / end of Pitru Paksha) is the larger of the two annual Mukam Melas and draws over a million Bishnoi pilgrims. The all-night havan at Samrathal Dhora and the dhokh (prostration) at Jambhoji's samadhi are the spiritual heart of the year.

Two Mukam Melas are held annually — Asoj Amavasya (autumn, the larger) and Phalgun Amavasya (spring); reconfirm the mela programme with the Mahasabha/Mukam Mandir Sansthan each year. Dates per Drik Panchang (drikpanchang.com, Rajasthan/Marwar Purnimanta reckoning); community observance details per the Akhil Bharatiya Bishnoi Mahasabha and Mukam (Muktidham Mukam) Mandir Sansthan calendars.
