Mantra

ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय। जय सीताराम।

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya · Jai Sitaram

Salutations to Bhagavan Vasudeva — the core Ekasharana mantra repeated through every Naam-Prasanga.

How to recite

Namami is the monthly congregational fast and Naam-Prasanga held at every Satra (monastery) and Naam-Ghar (community prayer hall) across Assam. Devotees observe a day-long fast, gather at the Naam-Ghar for Borgeet (Sankardeva–Madhavadeva devotional songs), recitation from the Bhagavata Purana and Kirtana-Ghosha, and break the fast together with prasad. Frequency and exact day vary by Satra and Naam-Ghar (often weekly Hari-Saptami, monthly Tithi, or Ekadashi-aligned).

Benefits

Monthly Namami is the householder's regular renewal of Eka Sarana — single-refuge devotion. The fasting + chanting cycle is held to be the principal Bhakti-sadhana of the tradition (as systematised by Srimanta Sankardeva and Sri Madhavadeva).

✦ Special Note

Frequency and exact day vary by Satra / Naam-Ghar — listed dates (15th of each month) are representative monthly markers, not a single fixed tithi.
